Decades of Education and Studio Work

After obtaining a fine art degree from the University of Wyoming and doing graduate work at the University of California, San Diego, and San Diego State University, I spent 15 years living and working as a studio artist in San Diego before moving to Poulsbo, Washington. I produce finely crafted, abstract paintings using techniques and skills developed over the years.

A Wide Range of Experience

For over 20 years, I owned and operated an inflatable art company in the Seattle area, creating pieces for companies and events such as Cirque du Soleil™, Radio City™, Disney™, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Macy's Day Parade™. Performing this type of work was a great way to utilize and hone my artistic skills while making a living.

Completely Original Style

After working on my painting style for more than 40 years, I have developed my own specific style, using intense physical texture and smooth resist methods. My art is not just a flat visual experience, but a tactile one. The thick layers of paint and visible brush strokes make for an interactive and exciting viewing experience.

Influenced by the Old Masters

In spite of having developed my own innovative style, I am still influenced by the old painting masters as well as figure, landscape, and age-old painting techniques. By using time-tested methods and theories, I am able to create a visually and texturally stunning work that is still recognizably artistic.
